there are quite a lot of organisations available for women suffering from domestic abuse ...the main problem is that most women for fear or other reasons stay and put up with it.In australia there are many places to seek advice through to hostels where you and your children can live and recieve counselling until you are strong enough to handle things on your own.But not all women have the strenght to leave ....part of the abuse is that a man can make a woman feel hopeless and therefore she thinks she will not be able to make it own her own or that the children may be taken from her or worse she may be threatened with violence if she leaves so too mant women stay in bad relationships .....those who do leave do make it on their own and many thrive in their new freedom .We are lucky in australia as we have a good welfare system and many good charities and counselling services available for free so that means those who do decide to get out stand a good chance of emotional and physical recovery. The hardest part is getting these women out of these horrible situations so maybe you should research the causes of wo men staying in these relationships maybe down the line it would do more good.

Depends on what country/culture the woman lives in. Not every culture treats women same way as the U.S....
You might want to google some on this issue.

Here in our country we have women's desk in every police station. they have personnel that handles issues involving women's rights, like rape cases, domestic violence, etc.
We also have women's support groups that extend services such as psychological therapy for rape victims, lawyers and even livelihood assistance to empower women.

We have one outreach home in our growing community
There is always more help needed from committed volunteers and professional counselors,,Talk to the local gov.
If the funds are not priority in the budget , it's not there.
