i was going through the same exact things, i swear-check my questions and you'll see i asked liek the same thing.

Anyway. My parents are COMPLETE animal haters. This is how i have persuaded both my mom and dad into getting me a hamster:

1.download a program called keynote or powerpoint. (they are slide show things)

2. make a slideshow with a different slides. i had ones liek this: why i should get a hamster, how do i take care of them, etc.

3. Set up two chairs (one for each parent) in front of the computer. Add a footrest if you want. Put a small table between the chairs. Put fresh fruit and a beverage out in wine glasses.

4. Put classical music on in the background.

5. **make sure the room is clean, or else they will be distracted.

6. get your parents lead them into the room, sit them down pour them a drink.

7. CLOSE THE DOOR. lol

8. give the presentation.

9. if you can have yor mom call a friend who has a hamster's mom.

10. keep persuading them with research for a few more days and they will finially say yes!

I am getting mine next saturday because i am going to arizona for february break.

i reallyyy hope this helps, and you get what you want.

Since you are nine look adorableeeeeee and get dressed up in that ugly sweater your mom loves but you hate.

I am twelve so i have some cuteness still in me. lol

Your only "angle" is to prove you are responsible. If you have fair parents, they will tell you their reasons for not allowing it. Many parents don't allow their children pets as pets are a huge responsibility and commitment, and when the kids slack off, it then becomes the parents job . . which they dotn want. This is true no matter what size the pet. I have allowed my children a hampster. We currently enjoy our 3rd. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to care for. And as far as cleanliness goes, I have found that a glass aquarium helps to keep the shavings from gettin all over. Good Luck!

Heyy.. welll I can answer this.. I got a hampster at 8.. Her name was Butterball and she was the CUTEST thing ever!! (I even bred her and she had 13 babies!CUTE!!) Well, I was in the SAME situation because my mom HATES rodents with a PASSION.. Here is what I did.. I did research ALL about hampsters and made my family a dinner of salad and told them ALL about hampsters.... I said that it would be my responsibilty and I told them that I would clean its cage 1x a week, feed water it etc... I "babysat" my friend's guinea pig for a week (and ended up keeping it hehe) and with the whole "responsible thing" taken care of.. I got Butterball!! Good Luck!!

Try talking to about your parents about getting a pet.Tell them you are ready for a pet,and the responsibility. They can be easy to look after.Tell them you want to start small, and upgrade by how well you prove yourself. It may or may not work, but give it a try. Also check out my site-freewebs-animallover01-I may have a hamster for adoption for you if you decide to get one.

You don't need on of those things they bite and they smell terrible. You have to change the shavings every other day and its too much work for the little enjoyment you will get out of them . they sleep all day and make noise all nite. Buy a big goldfish it will be allot easier too look after

Try writing a persuasive essay saying why you would be responsible and how you would help with them.
