I have to do a science project
"Brand X"
That means I have to test 3 different brands and see which one _____ (depends what I do it on)

I was thinking of testing 3 brands of soda to see which has the most carbon.
So, I am going to put mento's breath mints in them and see which one explodes the most. Then, I can determine which has the most carbon.
IS this a good idea?
Tell me if there is anything i need to know about this.
What is the explosion? Carbon, or Carbon Dioxide.
Please be honest. This is my grade here!

It sounds like a great idea, but you have to figure out the explosion yourself. How else are you going to learn??!?!?!?!

Thing to also think about:
1. How are you going to measure the explosion?
2. Are you going to measure the amount of carbon in the soda based on the amount of carbon dioxide?
3. What other variables are you taking into effect? (size of breath mints, type or size of bottle, etc.) I am not sure what else could effect the size of the explosion.

As far as the other information, if you search for the breath mint & soda mixture online, I am sure someone has the chemical breakdown of what happens. This might help you decide.

Good Luck!
