I'm an american traveling to England for the first time. What should I wear so I don't stick out like a sore thumb. I am 16 so what do English kids my age wear. Anything else I should know?

Hi wear what you wnat to wear, but dont dress like the chav 16 year olds over here people will think you are a chav and that is so not good. Where what you want to wear as long as you are comfy then you will be fine. Then once you get over here then you can decide what you want to wear. But i dont know what you are planning on wearing in the first place so i cant say. I doubt you would stick out like a sore thumb as over hear no one care what they look like. You will see.

lol I know this sounds weird but try some clothes from Target. They have a shirt series called "Stranded" it's a European trend so yeah. I wear it all the time. And there really cheap and comfortable. Good Luck in England!

we're just accross the ocean the only difference will be the time difference and the accents !! Wear what you would usually wear when it's cold in the US, just think cold, wet, maybe even snowy.

most kids wear clothing related to what ever music scene they are into eg, Rock/Goth etc or sportswear (with names on, Nike, Adidas etc)

you'll be fine.

Welcome to England!
Jeans, top and jacket. (And coat, scarf and gloves at the moment!) Whatever you feel comfortable in.
But for the love of God, DO NOT follow the chav trend - tracksuits, socks pulled over trousers, hoodies pulled up over caps, etc. Sooooo not a good look, and despite the fact that you might find yourself surrounded by these... people, it is NOT the general English way of dressing.

For pities sake chill out dude!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much the same as you do back home...

Anything else to know?

Rock/goth/metal/numetal etc and
psi trance (ie hippy festival rave) see www.accessallareas.org

Are the safest music scenes with nice people and no trouble...

Whilst garage music scenes, hip hop, jungle etc are more likly to lead to trouble. And serious trouble

Make CAMDENs MARKETS especailly the Stables market over then canal a first stop.

The only bad people are the odd dealer who will take you to a quiet spot and mug you where you cant go to the cops as the cop asks so why you go with him?

Just dont try and buy dope...

Much depends on your music scene

You will have no trouble getting in a bar and getting served... dont get shitfaced as you wont be able to handle it.

With a parent you can get in a nightclub night called whirlygig (festival like... no trouble)

the synergy project also I think do some under 18s nights
