We use honey on our mouse traps. Since honey gets stiff when it dries, the mouse has to gnaw to get it off, which triggers the trap breaking the nasty little disease ridden rodents neck :).
Can't you tell we just love the nasty things running around our house?
As far as a phobia with them??? Not too sure how to fix that, maybe pet stores and ask to handle the mice...

Mouse traps baited with peanut butter are sure to lore them in and get them stuck. I would try laying those out in places you think the mice may be, at least until Terminex come in a week. You will need to deal with throwing them out though, and if you are scared, you might want to get someone else to do it......you can tell where mice have been by where you see their poop. Good luck....

in case you get a capture, use peanut butter to bait it. Dcon works particularly properly. The glue traps are sturdy, yet once you don't get it quickly after it catches the mouse, he will flow to any lengths to get off of it. We positioned glue traps out, and interior the morning basically had area of his foot - he have been given away. Mice like cheese, yet look to love peanut butter greater valuable. there is likewise a poison bait at maximum farm aspects (i don't comprehend the call, whether that's obtainable in a block) and it works large - yet no longer risk-free in case you have different pets which could are available touch with it. I hate to declare it, yet once you observed one, you probable have greater. in case you're incredibly freaked out, call an exterminator. yet i'd flow get some mouse traps and set them. under sink, close to range, in cabinets are all sturdy places.

the best way to deter mice (or ats) is to keep cats (or dogs). to beat your phobia, go to a pet store where rodents are sold, ask the shope owner if you can watch his rodents, when you start to feel more comfortable, you may be allowed to hold one. i did a similar thing with spiders. actually held a tarantula in my hand. (i have knocked myself out running into walls trying to flee from them previously) now i catch them in a bug-scooper & release them outside.

set lots of traps with cheese and they will find it. If you see one mouse more than likely there is more. Creepy little rodents.
