The iPod video is the 5th gen. From October on, the 30GB and 80GB versions are known as 5.5 gen.

Yes, yours is. Any iPod that is of the Video family is considered 5th generation. The previous verson (4th, obviously) has only the capabilities for music, except for the iPod photo, which is still 4th gen.
