don't freak -- not that odd. Other guys didn't notice because 1) it isn't that odd 2) it isn't tat noticable and 3) guys do'nt know or notice squat about women's anatomy. Staying intact isn't that odd either. AS long as intercourse doesn't hurt you, no need to do anything. Only thing to do if you are bothered is get it surgically snipped. It can be extremely thin, or very thick and tough. We are ALL different in many ways, so this isn't anything at all to worry about. Delivery of a baby could be affected if very strong tissue, but again, no biggy as they'd just snip it or let the baby's head break it on the way out if very thin. See your gynecologist for reassurance and a quick, painless fix.

First of all, does your Mom know you are using tampons? If she does, it should make it easier to explain to her that you are having trouble getting them in. If she doesn't know, that is kind of a problem. Also, I don't think you should try to cut it yourself, because you could get an infection from non-sterile scissors or something and once again have to explain that to Mom. I also think that could hurt. The doctor will use an anesthetic so that it won't hurt. Maybe you could write her a note and tell her you need to talk to her about tampons. When the conversation gets going, tell her you looked and that you think you need to see the doctor because you have two separate holes in your hymen. Tell her you looked with a mirror and saw it. The best thing you can do is keep the communication open with your Mom, so you can get used to telling her anything. I wish I could help you more. Good luck.

No, you are not a freak. Any freakshow that said, "See the girl with the mild, common variation on her hymen that is invisible to anyone she doesn't have sex with" would go out of business:)

It's unusual that you still have an intact hymen post-sex, but not out of the question. Some girls are just stretchier, and their hymens aren't completely eradicated until and unless they give birth to a baby. In the case of a septate hymen, it can be pushed to one side. The treatment for it is minor, outpatient surgery, which you can ask your GYN about, but you really don't need to be ashamed.

First stop crying, you are not a freak. It is weird that you have had sex and this did not cause it to tear. Was it/is it painful when you have sex? If it bothers your boyfriend that it is there, then you should get rid of him. Obviously he is not understanding. If you can have sex and it is not painful I wouldn't worry about it. Can you use tampons? Is this painful or cause complications? Getting it removed is a very minor surgery and is not that uncommon. Good Luck. And remember you are not a freak. Don't let anyone make you feel that way.

OK, and be assured I only watch these shows for information...

When it comes to "revirgination" surgery, doctors use the bit of hymen left in a woman to "recreate" an intact hymen. Most women have a little hymen left around the edges after it's been broken (well, the ones who get vaginal plastic surgery do...guess they're special.)

The doctor pulls the edges of the hymen back together, attaches them with...lasers? Stitches? I don't know how they sew it back up.

But the hymen heals and it's like it's all new! Wheeee!

So, it's normal, and if you want to get the hymen pieces removed, you can...but it's not necessary.

Besides, if you want it "revirginated" later, you'll need those pieces of membrane.

You're body is fine the way it is. You shouldn't have to force yours self to change just for your bf. You know what happened and that should be good enough. Your bf will still do you, wont he? Don't be embarrassed, it'll go away in tome.

Ignore your idiot boyfriend who probably has no knowledge of female anatomy and go and see your practice nurse. She'll let you know if you have a problem or not.

Get over it. You sound too young to be engaging in sexual relations. If you were old enough to be having sex or foreplay, you wouldn't care.
