Maybe he's not a member of PNAC or AEI. That might explain it.
I think he's smart enough to realize that just because arms are made in a certain country, doesn't mean we should jump to the conclusion that the government is directly involved.
He's not a caoward. He's just using reasoning skills and temperance. Two things extremely lacking in certain parts of our government.

If there had been more cowards like that questioning the intelligence that Saddam had WMD and was linked to 911, we could have avoided losing over 3,000 American lives, a 300 billion dollar deficit and killing over 100,000 Iraqis.

Just telling the truth. The arms are manufactured in Iran, but to make the jump that Iran's leaders are behind it is just speculation.
