I think it can be very useful for people who need to "change their mind" about their approach to a certain circumstance.

When we face a trauma, that trauma tends to be stored up front in our brains so we recall it often - anytime we're in a situation that is remotely similar.

This, of course, can lead to re-traumatization as our bodies can't tell if we're merely THINKING about it, or going through it again. The heart races, digestion is effected, etc. People can wind up with anxiety disorders due to this reprocessing.

However, with the EFT, the trauma is filed in a deeper part of the brain so the trauma can be recalled, but without the physiological stress.

I think it's powerful stuff and have seen it be especially effective when used in combination with propranalol.

The Emotional Freedom Techniques concept was developed in the US in the 1990’s by Gary Craig. EFT roots are in acupuncture, kinesiology and psychology. EFT is now spreading very rapidly in the US and in the UK, where the concept is now used in some specialist areas of the National Health Service.

although the sound of it does not appeal to me.
