The mean is the same as the average. You add all the values up and divide by the number of values there are.
The median is when you write all the numbers you have down in order, and the median is the number in the middle. If the number of values is odd, then the median is the number exactly in the middle. If the number of values is even, the median is found by taking the average of the 2 middle numbers.
Hope that made sense.

The MEAN is the arithmetic average, the average you are probably used to finding for a set of numbers - add up the numbers and divide by how many there are: (80 + 90 + 90 + 100 + 85 + 90) / 6 = 89 1/6.
The MEDIAN is the number in the middle. In order to find the median, you have to put the values in order from lowest to highest, then find the number that is exactly in the middle:
80 85 90 90 90 100
^
since there is an even number of values, the MEDIAN is
between these two, or it is 90. Notice that there is
exactly the same number of values ABOVE the median as
BELOW it!
HOPE THIS HELPS

for the median you put the numbers in numeerical order then find the numer in the middle
ex. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
5 is the median
mean is like the average
add up all the numbers then divide by how many numbers you added
ex. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
45 divided by 9
so it's 5

Mean is just average- Find the sum and divide it by the total number. Median is the number that fall in the middle for example: in this number set (2, 2, 4, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11, 11) 5 would be the median

Mean-The mean of a collection of data is the sum of the data items divided by the number of items. Or simply, the average! you know, like when you add the numbers that you have and then count how many numbers you have and divide that total by the sum of the numbers. For example. in the numbers 100, 98 and 96. To find the mean, you add the numbers 100+98+96 and you get 294. Now you add the number of numbers you have which is 3 numbers and now you divide 294 by 3 and get 98. So the # 98 is your mean/average.
Median-the median of a collection of data is the middle number. You know, the number that's in the middle of all the numbers. For example, in the numbers 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, the median would be the # 5 because it is in the middle. And you have to put all the numbers from least to gratest(smallest to largest) and find the number that is in the middle, Only when the numbers are not in order from least to gratest.

The mean is an average of all the numbers. You add up all the numbers in your series and divide by the total number of numbers. i.e. 10 + 2 + 6 = 18 divided by 3 = 6 the mean.
The median is simply the middle number when you arrange all the number in your series in numerical order. ie. 1, 3, 4, 8, 9 the median (middle number) is 4.

the mean is the average of alll of the numbers in your data set so add them all up and divide by how ever many numbers you added.
the median is the number that falls in the middle of your data set. so if you have numbers 1 2 3 4 5 the median is 3 and the mean is 15/5= 3

From statistics the mean is considered the "average" and the median is lining up all the numbers from low to high (or reverse) and count down (or up) the colum until you find the middle one. The median has nothing to do with calculations, it just happens to be the one in the middle.

The mean is the average. Add all the values together and divide by the number of values.
The median is the one in the middle if you line all the numbers up in numerical order
