My friends and family (save my girlfriend) all depend on me for things, and when I need something they are nowhere to be found. Money, etc. But if I needed something such as a ride to work, no one could even get me there. My parents are a mess, etc.

Is this like this for everyone?

You may just have leadership qualities. Most people don't. It's the same way for me. If I want something done I have to do it myself.

It's like that a lot of the time for everyone. It just seems like friends just take these days instead of giving back. Perhaps new friends and a talk to the family is in order. That's what I do. I do a lot for people, and then when I stop giving they wonder why, and realize.

When you seem like a strong person, people just assume you can take care of yourself, no one ever stops to ask you if you're ok or offer you a helping hand, it's just the way the world works unfortunately, people are selfish by nature.

Well everyone feels like that at one time or another. I know I sure have. I always remember to step back and take a deep breathe. I understand the whole ride thing. I am not proud but I had my licenses suspended for 3 months one time and no one would help me but my boyfriend. Now his are suspended for a year and I take him everywhere. He did it for me and now I am returning the favor. My girlfriends never help me out but I always help them out. At one point or another we need to grow a backbone and tell everyone NO!!!

Yes particularly if you are generous to others you will notice that most people are so selfish and are ready to take take take but never give. You have to learn to be a bit less giving so they can appreciate things more and reciprocate.

I am like that too. It gets very frustrating, i know. I just like to think that someday i will be rewarded for this. So just suck it up, and wait until something better comes because that is all you can do.

No. You are unlucky.

Get away from these people and find some friends who are worth having.
