yes and I'm trying to introduce it into what I teach.

Why the thumbs down? I'm a teacher and I want to tell my very white students what some amazing black people have done... How's that wrong?

How could I not be aware that it is black history month?

I'm aware of it.

Every day of every year students in America should be taught true American history, which includes all history, rather than the lies about how the white Europeans "heroically" conquered a continent that didn't belong to them in the first place. This would eliminate the need for racially segregated history lessons altogether.

I hate to sound racist but what the hell? Why black History Month. They don't even specify a country or even a continent from which to start. They should have African History Month, March should be Irish History Month, and April can be Mexican History Month. Wouldn't that make a little more sense??

I'm curious...when is Asian History Month? Or Latin American History Month? Or, most importantly, NATIVE AMERICAN History Month? And I'm not even going to mention the possibility of a White History Month. The FBI would fall out of my ceiling and take me away, hehe.

Yeah so what? I think it's not fair to have it because there's not a month for indians or Irish or any of the other races. The Indians were here first and they deserve to have a month to celebrate all they did and so do the Irish. It's not right that the blacks get all the glory and have a month. I think all races should.

Yes, I have a pretty good memory, so I know on any given day, after about thirty years of living, whether the day is part of a month of celebration, or whether the day is special somehow on its own, etc.

Why does Black History have to be restricted to one month? I've never understood that.
