I like ebay and buy and sell stuff on there on a regular basis but there seems to be loads of really dodgy people on there these days flogging everything from real fur to used underwear (I know, yuck!), fakes of every designer label you can think of, blocked mobile phones and "wish it was" gold and silver. Nothing gets done about it - even if ebay suspends people they just join again under a different name and ebay gets paid anyway! Does any one know of any good alternative auction sites?

Thanks BP, I like ioffer.com, will probably use this site instead and forget ebay.

ebay is fine as long as you know how to protect yourself and your money.

the ONLY SAFE way to pay for anything on ebay is through PAYPAL and funded by a CREDIT CARD!

then if you end up buying a fake, or a phone that desn't work, etc...you can file for a CHARGEBACK through your CC company.

PAY SAFE, STAY SAFE!

Caveat Emptor, then. The thing I don't like about e - bay is that it used to be pretty straightforward and now you have to have this and that and the other and you can't register without a credit card.

The weirdest part is like what happened with me. I signed up through someone I knew but decided to cancel til I could do it on my own. Ebay told me I can never sign up again. What is this a contract with the devil signed in blood? I could understand if you do something unethical, my case was just the opposite. I don't even want an appearance of funny business. Seems to me by what you say there's plenty of that! Weird outfit. Great idea. Weird outfit.

Yes you can try my website www.takeyourmoneyandrunsucker. You have to be a cad to sell, real first class s##t rather like myself, it is important when listing, that you state you will take the buyer to court, if they do not pay up of coarse you never will, because the judge may recognise you from the case involving, the girl guilds the donkey and the nun (it was never proven, and I shall sue anyone who brings it up).To buy you need to bid the item right up, have absolutely no intention to purchase or answer emails.Using my site everyone knows where they stand. The best part is I always get paid !

My experience with ebay was a few months ago when I was looking for some documentary vhs tapes. I got ripped off on both of them.( one was the completely wrong vhs set ( I think on purpose) and the seller closed his account right after and I could not get ahold of him. And the other sent me a single vhs tape purchased from Wal-mart and it was a pirated copy! I never am going to go on ebay again!
Amazon, is much safer and better customer care in situations like this!

Try www.craigslist.com. Although this site isn't flashy, and it doesn't have auctions, the local pickup helps get rid of scammers. I am using a computer right now I got on craigslist for $150, and it is a great computer! This site will not disappoint you, I promise!
