like take out the words from the song but keep the background music and beats?

I think for that, you'd have to record just the song. Like just read the music and play that with the intrusments and don't sing! Hope that helped~

Yes, there are programs and audio filtering devices that do this. As for which one to get, usually it comes down to the old truth of "you get what you pay for". Some work better on older albums than newer ones, due to the differences in how tracks used to be recorded in stereo. I know Winamp has a plug-in you can get that filters out vocals, so you might want to search for that "karaoke" plug-in.

Yes there are several devices available, however, it may require you to conduct MIDI applications through your computer. Go to your local Guitar Center and check out the Audio Dept. or go to Best Buy, Circuit City or Comp USA. If its a Computer Store speak that language--be willing to explain what you want to do. You may need to upgrade your system( Memory, Disk drive space, sound card). There may be minor hardware issues.

You can do it with a karaoka machine. Also, Aiwa brand stereos used to have a feature that made the words inaudible, or you could just have them very quiet.
