i went to planned parenthood today to get a refill on my birth control. i told the nurse that my period was a day later than usual, and only lasted 2 1/2 days (about half the time it usually is). she said while there was a chance i could be pregnant, i should wait until next month to see if things are still not normal, and then take a test to rule out a pregnancy. should i just not worry about it until next month, or go ahead and take a test? i don't want to continue to take birth control, and everything else (i have a drink or two on the weekends) if i turned out to be pregnant. but she seemed to think that it was no big deal. your thoughts?

If you've taken all of your pills properly, then there's nothing to worry about. The pills can change your period. But if you've missed pills or taken pills late, then you could be pregnant. So if that applies to you, then it's best to skip this month's pills and take a test.

I don't get girls who are taking bc always worrying about getting prego. You cant take a test till your first missed period for it to show. Drinking while on bc is not healthy but allot of other things in this world are just as bad to. You need to chill out a little. good luck

I would wait until 4-5 more days and take a test to be sure.

when i was on the pills, for a month i kept forgetting to take them. and like always when i remembered i would then take it imediatly. i ended up not having my period at all and i was not pregnant. it was just a weird random thing that happened. if you missed a few, having a light period might be the result of it.

Take a test. If you're not pregnant you can take your pill and drink, otherwise those things could cause damage to your baby if you are pregnant.

If you're worried, take a test. Best way to put your mind at ease. Best of luck!
