They are rejecting conformity by all dressing alike in black.

if you're talking about Mallgoths (goths who do all of that to "scare people") ignore them...they are mostly posers.
Yeah, it is sorta recent (1980s is when it started) but honestly, goth isn't just a fashion.
but, i don't know. I'm not annoyed. I like their non conformity ideas. well, the non posers that is. haha.
they do that b/c they can i guess. Maybe they like it. It's like asking "preps" why they dress bright. I don't know.
Most goths are really nice though. No lie.

I don't know if this was approved of or even around when you were younger, but it's called freedom of expression. They wear it because they like it and like a certain kind of music.
Open your mind, and change with the times man come on
EDIT: Why not like that, cause you don't like it? that's not a good reason for them to stop dressing that way, just because you don't like it

They do that to be different. They want to show the world that they are each individuals. Why be tired of how someone dresses? You can't control it. Just let the goths, emo's, and whoever else be themselves. You have no idea what is going on in their heads, no one does. If they want to be left alone, if they want to wear all-black, let them. Let them be themselves, and we won't have a problem.

They do that cause thats who they are, well let me put it this way why do ppl dress in gangsta clothes? Why do ppl dress in preppy clothes? You know why? Cause its who they are, who they choose to be. Which is the same reason ppl dress in goth clothes and put on dark make-up. Or they could be really depressed and dressing up like that could express how they feel.
Hope it helped you buddy.

I am getting bored with the look. I'm kinda old fashioned too. But if you remember correctly, we all had "looks" at that age that shocked someone. They were only fads. Fads always come and go. I can't wait for the goth look to go. And when it goes, it can take the saggy pants look with it.

They do that because that's how they're comfortable. I wear black a lot and my friends joke around and call me a black goth, but that's just a color that I think I look good in.

How old ARE you?
You probably have your own idea of what looks good, and dress the part to the best of your ability. The same is true of anyone, whatever "look" they like.

Because they feel like it and it's fun, why should the way other people dress be of any concern to you? Chavs are they ones you should be complaining about, the common thugs who beat up old ladies.

It's not so much how they dress its who they are under the disguise that matters. I know one that dresses like this and is the sweetest person I have ever met.
