Billions of money spent on dept and aid isnt working. Should we invade and free the ordinary people eg Americans in Iraq. Or should we sit and do nothing because there is nothing to gain only the independance of a nation.

Stopped caring? Billions are sent to Africa every year. Tons of food, billions in debt forgiven every year. Yet Africa is still basically the same as when the Romans ruled the world. It is time for the world to stop babying Africa, for Africans to stand up and demand something other then corruption from thier leaders. To support education, farming, equal rights, instead of fighting and killing each other over the smallest thing, destroying everything that can be destroyed, then parading their starving children to the world, saying why dont you care about us? Thirty years from now, you will be asking the same question, billions will still be sent over and the killing and living in the stone age will go on and on.

Not only do we send billions of pounds to Africa each year but we also subsidise quite a few African's in the UK. Where I live in London is like Africa as most of West Africa seem to have moved in - and I can tell you that the criminal elements of these people are very rich from stealing other peoples id and getting fake mortgages and emptying out people's accounts - in fact they have done such a good job that we are the only area in London, if not the UK with £30,000 negative equity in two years due to their activities.
So I am all for looking after ourselves for a change - because years of funding have not made a jot of difference to Africa apart from equipping the corrupt governments over there with fleets of top range mercs and gold taps for their bathrooms! Perhaps if you have such a desire to help your own people you should be present and active in those countries to try and help your own community!
Like the other postee - I unfortunately see a lot of laziness and no desire to earn a decent honest living from those individuals in this country so why would they in their own?

Africa receives hundreds of billions of pounds a year from many other countries from around the world! The thing is the money does not always go to where it is meant to go. There is a lot of corruption and conflict in many African countries. Rather then spend the money on food, etc for the poor, it gets spent on weapons!

The day charities are no longer required in the UK for things like child health and welfare, care for the elderly and infirm, homelessness, medical research etc. Fully funded by the taxes we pay, then I will start to worry about Africa.

For as long as I can remember Africa has been given Aid. Nobody has stopped caring, or giving Aid but it probably needs caring people like yourself to organise the distribution.

Lots of people still care, and the US does send some aid to Africa. I feel for the people, but there is a big part of me that will never forget the footage of Africans dancing and celebrating upon hearing of the September 11 attacks on our country. Some of the people celebrating our pain were from regions where we've sent millions of dollars of aid. Maybe that's why some people don't care.

Having lived in Africa I can tell you to save your sympathy for a more worthy cause.
It's not America's fault or Britain's either.
Thje simple blunt truth is that many Africans just won't work.
It's a lost cause.

We have not stopped caring it's just that they are too lazy to help themselves. Africa was once a great country but has been let go. Now we have what was once the bread basket of the continent Zimbabwe reduced to poverty because the white farmers who kept the nation fed have been driven out and the black community can't be bothered to continue with the work.
Top that with the corrupt governments, is it any wonder we have lost patience.

its not jsut africa that is dying from poverty and hunger and my brothers and sisters here in England are dying, most of us are lucky to have a roof over our heads, what about those poor children who get abused by thier own parents and who get chucked out on the streets at the age of 5! so dont stand there and say it like africa is the only country suffering because its not people all over the world are!

Excuse me?
Why Africans don't help or try to help themselves first?
The only things they know is how to give birth to children they cannot take care of, have "unprotected" sex-I don't wanna say like animals and cannot get rid of AIDS,use the colonisation as an excuse to obtain visa to an European country and as soon as they arrive, claim asylum for the benefit, and as soon as they receive it -start to complain about wanting a bigger houses!
Let alone selling drugs, dealing with fake documents etc.
People from "the real" world have helped enough! Now is time for Africans to do something about themselves!
Sounds harsh!Sorry Frankly but that's the truth!
