I think that pansexual means you don't think of potential mates in terms of gender. If you are attracted to a human being, it is of no concern if the person is male or female. I don't really see too much difference with bisexuals, except that bisexuals develop intimacies with both sexes because they are attracted to specific things each gender provides them with.

Bisexual - a person sexually responsive to both sexes; ambisexual.
Pansexual - expressing or involving sexuality in many different forms or with a variety of sexual outlets.
I think the basic difference is that bisexuals believe in having one partner at a time without any regards of gender.

Bisexual: sexual attraction to men and women.
Pansexual: sexual attraction to people of all genders and sexes.
Basically, they differ in that pansexuals also feel attraction, or are open to sex/relationships with transgender, transsexual, and intersexed individuals as well as biological men and women.
