my usb cable is connected, but my adsl line is down, how do i get it running?

i need some step-by-step instruction like setting up the wires and do i need to go to control panel or something?

the only thing i HAVE is adsl right not and apparently it's not working.

You might want to try connecting to the modem with an ethernet cable not USB

In the Control Panel > Network Connections will give you the status if your connections.

Reset the modem. Turn it "off" and then back "on" after a few minutes.
