I know I hate my speaking voice on an answering machine! Is it the same way with a singer when they record a single? Do they hear it and think, "That's ME?!" I've always wondered this.

Everyone goes through that at first, but your ear gets used to it until you do generally hear what others do. Technically, no two people can possibly hear the same thing at the same time because no two people can be in exactly the same spot at the same time. Acoustics depend on the propogation of sound waves and the smallest variations cause a difference in the percieved sound. Also, hearing sound is a function of our brains interpreting the sound and this is slightly or significantly different from person to person.

Most tracks are digitally enhanced, so they will not sound like themselves as if they were speaking.

However they do get excited when their songs are being played on the radio.

no, just like if you hear a recording of yourself, you think it sounds wierd, but everyone else thinks it sounds normal.......it has something to do with your ear being close to your jaw...
