No, because I feel like the family is the place for a child to learn from beginning to finishing! Who will love her as much as her own parents? We lend our kids each day to public schools for 6 or 7 hours, that is plenty. You can teach more by example at home, in my opinion.

I went to finishing school right after graduation from high school. I learned some life skills there that still help me today (30 years later.) I learned proper etiquette, how to write a letter, how to "carry myself like a lady and some really good interpersonal skills. This has helped me in my career life. It helps to write cover letters and thank you notes, how to talk with someone in an appropiate manner (my job involves alot of conflict resolution) The etiquette sure helped me when I was younger to know how to cunduct myself at a business luncheon. I went to a local "finishing school" in MPLS. and it was only for the summer but the benefits were worth it.

Why what will it get her later on in life? Is she going to become someone or is she going to end up somebodies wife and mother. Look at the big picture not just tomorrow.
finishing school is great for those that make it in the spotlight but for the rest invest your money elsewhere..

Yes...

I think being a lady is important.... and if she managed to get kicked out of that school for some reason, then she'd be off to military school...

Best Wishes...

I would say no. It takes time away from doing other things like being a kid. Now a days people grow up to fast they might as well spend that time doing other things than refining their manners.

Yes, I want all my girls to know how to finish off a man properly.
Leaving evidence and loose ends at a murder scene is completely unlady like and wholly unacceptable.

I have a daughter who is a tomboy and no amount of "training" will make her a proper lady, that's just not who she is. I let her be herself, she is nice, intelligent and self assured. That's all that matters.
