If you are ready to spend the next 10 years of your life studying and committing to your dream, then it is worth it. Don't do something if you don't love it just because of the money. Later in your life, when working that job you don't love, you will then realize what mistake you made when taking the path to money instead of your passion and talent. Good luck, mate. ;)

I am pre-med. It can be hard if you make it that way, it all depends on how you think. If you do the typical pre-med track (biology major), then you have a lot of biology classes, chemistry classes, some physics and math. Most of these classes are very time consuming. If you are dedicated to becoming a doctor, then it shouldn't be a problem, but if you aren't, then odds are you won't want to put out all the effort needed to succeed in these types of classes. I found that out after my first semester, but it really didn't sink in until after about a year and a half. I enjoy all the classes I take (with the exception of chemistry...that stuff sucks) but if you want to do well, its hard to maintain a social life and academic life. I personally think it will be well worth it in the end when I have EARNED the title M.D. I think if will be the most satisfying feeling. Plus the pay isn't half bad.

Good luck on your decision.

I met a nurse that wanted to be a doctor. But while taking chemistry & biology she found it was to hard for her. She switched majors and became an RN instead. Years later she found out that there was a group of doctors that will coach/tutor you if you find any subject to hard while in med school.

Any thing worth while is hard. Worth it??? I think a six figure income is tempting, don't you? And working at something you love will not seem like work. I have a friend that should of retired from being a doctor, he's a great doctor, but he enjoys what he is doing. He said to me, "I love being a doctor more than going on vacations. To me this is the more fun then any of that."

Good luck.
