Should something be done? What? Should traditional Islamic laws and teachings be respected and left alone, or should assimilation be required to some extent, or perhaps just better encouraged? Why?

I think Turkey has the best idea. They are a Muslim nation and they have banned any ceremonial dress to be worn in public. No one is allowed to hide their face behind shrouds etc, to force people to integrate. I think we should be tollerant of their teachings and laws but like wise they should follow with our Britishness, laws and other religious festivals. If shops celebrated all the religious festivals they'd be celebrating all the time. That would be nice...

Yes they do and not just Europe, America also has problems with Muslims.

Why do so many Muslims leave their country, because they do not practise their own religion and they move here to escape the attention or their own religious fanatics.

Therefore it follows that there are few 'good Muslims' in foreign countries, we only get the bad ones and they would be trouble anywhere. They are just using the guise of their religion to get freebies from governments.

Well i am British born and raised, Scottish in fact and a Muslim. There is nothing about any Muslims who have immigrated to the UK that i know do not "assimilate" or "integrated". They work, pay taxes, there children are educated, they own businesses, are law abiding citizens. What more do people need to do to be considered integrated. There is nothing about Islamic laws that mean we cannot follow the laws of the land. What exactly would you have people do to be "assimilated" if what i have stated is not enough?

I am not sure. They have to understand that when you move to another country, you have to conform to their culture, not the other way around. There are many things that are part of the European culture that would certainly not be acceptable in an Islamic country. It goes back to the old saying: when in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Personally I believe they shouldn't be allowed to practise their religion in any country but their own, If I had the power in north America alone, there would not be a Muslim in this country, I would simply close the doors to them, it is a vary dangerous and violent religion, that all none Muslims will have to deal with in the vary near future.

War will come and I will blame the pathetic, self-righteous politicians. By then of course, they will have fled to safer zones along with their inflated pensions and ill-gotton gains
