Add all the parts together... 3,2,3 and you have 8.

So figure that there are going to be 8 parts in your two gallons.

So now in the 2 gallons (or 32 cups) divide by 8... which comes out to 4. So each part is equal to 4 cups. Now multiply.

3 parts juice x 4 cups = 12 cups of juice
2 parts soda x 4 cups = 8 cups soda
3 parts sherbert x 4 cups = 12 cups of sherbert

Hope this helps! =]

OK, you have 8 parts in your total recipe (3 juice + 2 soda + 3 sherbert). You want 32 cups (2 gallons), which is 4 times 8. So, you multiply each of your parts by 4 cups:

12 cups juice
8 cups soda
12 cups sherbert

total: 32 cups

so.. the question is giving you information about the proportions of ingredients you need. for example, for every 3 liters of juice, you need 2 liters of soda. for every 3 milliliters of juice you need 2 milliliters of soda. and so on. as long as juice/soda ratio is 3/2 you're good.

so how many 'parts' are there total? (3 juice+2soda+3 sherbert) = 8 'parts'. 3/8 of the punch is juice, 2/8 is soda, and 3/8 is sherbert, no matter how much punch there is. because there are 2 gallons, or 32 cups, then

juice: 3/8 * 32 = 12 cups
soda: 2/8*32 = 8 cups
sherbert: 3/8*32 = 12 cups

check: 12cups + 8 cups+ 12 cups = 32 cups = 2 gallons

Ok, first count up how many "parts" you have->3+2+3=8
Now divide the amount you want by the number of parts. 32 cups/8=4cups
That gives you the amount of one "part", so multiply by the number of parts of each to find out how much you need.
3(4)=12 cups juice
2(4)=8 cups soda
3(4)=12 cups sherbet.

2 a million/4 quarts club soda for 3 quarts juice. What are you able to multiply the 4 components juice via to get your 3 qts? the respond is 3/4(3/4 * 4=3), so multilply the different element of the ratio , for that reason the three components club soda via the comparable element, (3/4 * 3 components club soda = 9/4, = 2 a million/4qts)so , to maintain the ratio 3:4, the respond is two.25:3

Take them all as "x"
3x+2x+3x= 8x
So there are a total of 8 parts.
16*2=32
So there are 32 total parts.
32/8= 4
So each "x" is equal to 4.
Then you just need to multiply with each ingredient by 4 cups and that's your answer.
All you need is a little algebra to figure out the answer.

32 cups is your total output. Of that, there are 8 total "parts," so each "part" is 4 cups... ergo - 12 cups of juice, 12 cups of sherbet, and 8 cups of soda.
