I have the perfect solution. It is a product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an activated carbon filter inside that is really great. It works so much better than baking soda and all those sprays. I'm not particulary fond of fragrances that just cover up odors and do nothing to get rid of them. Also, most have warning statements on them as eye irritants. Just put a couple of these odor absorbers around the house and especially smelly areas like cat litter box. No messy pieces or carbon powder to worry about. The carbon filter in this product literally eliminates the odors and works for a long time. I use this product everywhere including my fridge and freezer and also under sinks, near trash, closets, drawers and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it and it's not expensive. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. Definitely worth trying. It's the best product for any odors around the house.

During Christmas I put a small pot on the stove fill it with water, add some cinnamon, nutmeg and any other things I have that go with that. I leave it on simmer all day long and it makes the place smell really nice. Every few hours I'll go and add some more water to it.

I'm a SAHM mom though, so I have time to play with things like this. LOL

I know that sprays and plug ins don't last that long. You get a nice scent at first and then it just doesn't exist anymore.

How about trying one of those candles that don't have a real flame? They work on batteries and you can get scented one's like vanilla. I know I've seen them on the Home Shopping Channel before here in Canada. This way you can leave it on all day and not have to worry about a fire starting. Sure the batteries will go faster but it might be worth it.

NOTE: Here is a good site which talks about internet rumours and clears up if they are true or false. Here's a link talking about the false rumour of febreeze hurting pets.

Good Luck!

Cinnamon sticks work great. Get fresh ones, put them in small bowls around where your pets hang and use a grater to grate a little of the sticks every week or so. Using the grater on them releases that great smell. Also, Febreeze works pretty well.

Also, the Frebreeze killing pets thing isn't true. Total runaway story. Kind of like the one about IAMS using actual dogs in their food. Internet rumor gone a bit crazy :)

Here is a simple solution, Baking Soda! Sprinkle it on the carpet, let it sit for a while, and then vacuum it up.

You can also sprinkle it on the dog bed and vacuum it.

light some candles for about a week every day just dnt forget to blow them out and get your pets washed so they can get rid of the oders they already have in their fur.. DONT try frebreeze because all your doing is masking the bad smell .... p.s try one of those air-wick fans that you plug in that will work to ...good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

you could try one of those odor eaters that come from the store. they come in different smells and you open them as much or as little as you want depending on how strong you want the scent. also i find febreze works well.
