Hi,
My hubby and I have been trying to get PG for 4 months now, I have been off the b/c Pill since Oct 21, and there has been NO luck. I am a healthy weight, and have a 5 year old from another relationship, however my hubby is very overweight and is older then me, I am 26 and he is 35.

I am scared with him being overweight he will not be able to get me PG. Also how long after stopping the pill should it take. It's already been 4 months. I am losing hope, each month I get my period I get so sad. It's my biggest dream to have another baby, and this is so hard for me.

Is there still hope, or should I give up?

In reality, you just started trying. I'd ask this question again this time next year. Or, if you haven't by the time you have another yearly check up, mention it to your doctor, but trying for 4 months is no time to give up hope.

There is ALWAYS hope. My mom took 8 months to get pregnant with me after going off the pill. My stepmother took 4 years with her first, then 2 1/2 years for the second, then 2 years with the third. His weight probably has nothing to do with it, either, but if you're worried, have him do a fertility test. It'll happen, just keep trying. Have sex every other day, then you'll always have live sperm in you for when you ovulate.

My husband and I have some friends where the husband was overweight (he's lost a lot of it), and the wife was REALLY overweight (500 lbs.), and they were able to conceive. They have a beautiful little 3 1/2 year old girl.

Good luck, and God bless!

The man being overweight doesnt have anything to do with it. If you was on the pill for a while sometimes it takes a while to get it out of your system. I had two kids and wanted another one and it took me 7 yrs to get preg. again. Sometimes when u think about it and try all the time it wont happen. Just relax and try not to think about it each time and sooner or later it will happen for you. I gave up hope after a cpl yrs of tryin and then one night on my birthday i finally concieved when i thought there was no hope. Good luck!

you should never give up. You may actually be trying too hard. Let nature takes it course. A lot of people find that when they stop trying, that is when it happens because they are more relaxed about the whole situation and they are not just having sex to try to make a baby. If you have not done so already, you should maybe chart your ovultation. If that all fails, then maybe your husbnad should get checked because maybe he has a low sperm count which can happen in overweight men.
Hope it all works out.

There is still a chance of you getting pregnant . It has nothing to do with him being over weight . You can get pregnant at any time after stopping the pill . Sometimes it is right away and then it might take awhile .I would give it a couple more months then if you aren't pregnant then it would be wise for the two of you to see a Dr.

Of course there is still hope. I got pregnant after 9 years of trying and having 3 miscarraiges. So there is always hope. Took my sister 2 years after coming off the pill and her and her hubby were both healthy. Try for a year and then see a dr!

i know what your going through, my hubby and i have been trying for a few months for our FIRST baby and every month i get my period i cry. Its my lifetime dream to be a mom and have my husbands babies. I know its tough but you should feel blessed to at least have one child, and dont give up, youve only been trying for 4 months, which to us is like a lifetime but in reality its not that long...there is still much hope and time for you to get pregnant, keep trying and have faith. Good luck to you...baby dust...i hope we both have better luck soon....god bless.

It took my husband and I three years of trying. It will happen when it is meant to be. I never did any fertility drugs, treatments, etc. Do not lose hope. Do not worry so much. Most doctors say it will take at least a year if you try regularly, even without stressing yourself out.

It is normal to take 6-12 months to get pregnant. Keep trying, if it takes longer than that then go to the dr.
