With the Hollywood Vampire if a Human drinks the blood of a Vampire that person becomes one of the undead.
With Real, Modern Vampires this is not the case. When a human drinks the blood, nothing happens. The person might get sick.
Real vampires are human at their core, they just feel things differently. Everything is heightened...emotions, senses. They have heightened sight and hearing, touch and taste...even smells...Pain, love, heartbreak, happiness, loneliness and suffering. Everything...

drinking vampire blood will grant a human all the powers a vampire had, minus the weaknesses. However, this burst of power only lasts a day or two, after which you will imeaditly fall down to weaker than you have ever been, and you may even die if you get sick or an enemy takes advantage of your weakness. Dying in such a condition (poisened by the taint of undeath) will cause you to rise as a zombie.

Vampires are the living dead. Contray to popular movies of late, the blood does not flow. It can be sucked out. According to Hollywood, the blood of a vampire to a human makes the human a vampire and totally committed to that vampire.

The post Stoker idea is that they would become Vampire when they die.
This is how stories and films explain why some victims of vampire just die and other are brought back as vampires....
Early stories have no discriptions about this.

#1- vampires only have blood in their veins after feeding..so chances are ..if you tried to suck a vampires blood...you would get nothing.
#2- Vampires do kill other vampiers..kind of like the whole alfa dog thing...but they don't drain them..they torture them..didn't you ever watch Interview with a Vampire?

The story is that it makes YOU a vampire. If the Vamp drinks your blood, it only keeps it alive; it doesn't quite "turn" you, but gives you the desire to do so.

My understanding is that it gives the vampire control over you. I believe that is what was stated in Dracula when he made the lady drink his blood.
