Tommorrow I have a doctor appointment because I've been feeling off lately. I'm almost 17 and since my last check up I've began having sex. I know she's gonna ask if I'm sexually active so what happens when I tell her that I am?

Will she do any tests, ask any questions? Is it even worth it to tell her?

It's ok to tell her, if she examines you there she will know anyway. By telling her you can also find out if you are feeling off because you ae pregnant. If not she can prescribe birth control. She is obligated NOT to tell your parents without your permission.
But since you are sexually active, it is time to start birth control. You hve to much ahead of you to get pregnant now. My daughter had a baby at 18 and it has definately affeced her by not being able to go to college, having to take low paying jobs since she had no education, she is 26 and still lives with me since she doesn't make enough to care for herself and her daughter. Think of all those things you want to do but won't be able to since you have a baby. As much as we love this child, we also see the impac that it has had on my daughters life, but we'd do it again.

Of course it is worth it to tell her. Doctors can only help you if you are honest and open with them. Everything you say is kept confidential, and the doctor has a legal obligation to keep it that way.

Yeah, your going to have to tell her. Then you will start needing to get yearly Pap smears (you can read about it on the internet). This is extremely important for you health, well being, and even for your partner's health.

Always tell your doctor the truth. If you are going have adult sex, you need to act like an adult and be truthful and responsible.

She will probably recommend you see a gynecologist but you don't have to. She will ask you if you are using proper protection and you should answer her honestly. Don't worry, she won't tell anyone.

yes, tell her! she is not there to judge. she'll ask a few questions about birth control and your cycle. tell all. this is your health and she's there to see that you are working properly. plus the stress will disappear when she tells you everything is normal.
