I am not currently, although I am pregnant with twins and feel huge. I have three older boys though and know your situation. I know this is hard to hear, but sit back and try to relax. Watch TV, read a book. Enjoy getting 8 straight hours of sleep, heck enjoy getting 8 hours of sleep in one single day. If this is your first, you could go as much as 2 weeks over. Make sure to ask you OB what their postion is on letting women go over their due date. My OB will induce labor if the woman goes 41 weeks. That way you at least have a little bit of a time line. I hope evrything goes well for you. If you can, try walking, up and down stairs especially, and castor oil is a supposed great way to induce labor. One tablespoon, taken with a liquid (GROSS) but no more, it can cause cramps and diareah (that is not how that is spelled) I hope you have a great labor and delivery.

It seems like forver, doesn't it?! My first three babies were overdue and had to be induced. With my fourth baby, I'd heard that sex was a good way to kick-start labour ( gentle sex! ) as there is a hormone in the semen ( prostaglandin ) that is very similar to the synthetic hormone gel ( prostin ) that is used in inductions to soften the cervix and induce labour. It worked for me - hours after a quickie with my husband, I was in labour and had my first totally natural labour with my fourth baby! Other than that, just enjoy your last few days of peace and relaxation, and all the very best of luck with your new baby.

I'm not, but my sister was overdue with her first. She was given (and tried!) all sorts of advice, including eating at a specific pizza place (a friend had eaten there shortly before going into labor), taking a bath instead of a shower, and playing miniature golf.

In the end, whether one or all of these things worked, or whether my niece just decided the time was right, she had the baby the day after.

Best of luck to you!

I went about 2 weeks over, I just tried to be patient and relaxed. I went out to eat with my husband, rented movies, stuff like that. I think that often babies know when the best time to come is, and remember, due dates are only educated guesses, they can be off by a day or a week or two. Oh, and don't drink castor oil or anything like that, it can cause complications! Just try to relax, go for strolls, go out to eat with friends, do stuff you won't be doing for awhile once the baby comes. And congratulations, how exciting, you'll soon be meeting the most important person in your life!!!

You are not overdue. Baby will come when the time is right.
Hope you have a short labour and bring forth an exceptional child.

Situation always changes. Sometimes born before the duedate and sometimes late. So don't worry. Be patient. I was overdue for 2 weeks and we kept waiting. As long as your doctor suggests to be fine, don't worry. Good Luck

Yes, you should enjoy the sleep whilest you can! But my daughter swears by Castor oil(8 oz.). Though if the baby isn't ready, you'll wind up sitting on the throne for a while.
Due dates are a guesstimation! They are never 100% accurate. I like the one about the pizza place. With one of my daughters it was shopping at Wal-Mart!
Congratulations!

I remember when I was going to ante-natal classes there was one girl who was more advanced than the rest of us and the day came when she was due and she didn't show up to the class. We were all excited for her, thinking she must have had the baby, when she suddenly appeared in the doorway, still obviously pregnant.
As we all rushed (or maybe waddled) over to her she said, "I feel like it's my birthday and everyone's forgotten. Today was supposed to be a special day but nothing happened"
So I guess that's how you feel.
