im not trying to be nosie or anything but i was watching sweet 16 on mtv. it was about the daughter of easy e. easy e died of aids in 1995 i think this girl was born in 90 or 91 would she have aids?

Most likely NOT. He could have very well gotten HIV poss, 2 years before he died. Back then the epidemic didnt receive the health care neccesary. So people died shortly after getting the virus. Some individuals even 1 year after being connected to the virus die. There is much more longevity NOW than ever before.

AIDS has been around for years...it exploded in the gay population of North American in the early 1980's...but it is speculated to have been around a lot longer than that. Yes it is entirely possible that someone born in 1990 could have aids. The general population seems to be unable to accept that it is not a gay disease. It can happen to anyone.

It would mainly depend upon whether or not the child's mother was HIV+, since she is the one able to transmit the virus through the birth process.

However, this is not guaranteed, even if she is HIV+.

Please note the use of the correct term. One is described as having AIDS only when their HIV+ status has decimated their system to the point where they have contracted any of various opportunistic infections.

Not necessarily.
Occasionally certain treatments can prevent HIV from being passed from mother to child.
