i see from your previous questions that you like eminem, who is a white rapper and looks like a moron doing what he does. so why do you like him?

and did it ever occur to you that some white people aren't pale as hell?
white isn't a nationality, moron. greek people, turkish people, arab people, we're all dark, too.

so shut your mouth and grow up.

being in the sun changes our skin color. and that's how god wanted it.

Tanning is done for a variety of reasons. Pale white skin sometimes does not look as healthy as skin that is tan. Tanning then makes you look and feel healthier.

Tanning helps white people to not get a sunburn, which is unhealthy and painful. This also works for black people who can get sun burned as well.

Tanning during the time of year when the sun is not out much improves ones mood and this works no matter what color your skin is.

Tanning in a tanning bed helps remove tan lines caused by natural time in the sun.

Tanning is fun and addictive to those who like it a lot.

Tanning makes you look like you are a person of leisure, one who has time to sit or play in the sun either around your swimming pool, or on your yacht or at the golf course or on the French Riviera or the islands. Rich white people often have good sun tans, so tans can make some people feel rich.

Some white people have skin that just looks much better tan.

Tanned skin on white people is sexy.

Sun exposure helps keep ones skin clear of blemishes, so 15 minutes every 10 days in a tanning bed helps some peoples' complexion.

Does this list begin to help you understand?

I have tanned regularly and on and off for 30 years and so have listed a few reasons for you. There are many that I have not mentioned.

Are you jealous of white people who can change their skin color so easily? You do know of course that black people can become darker black when they tan as well. If black people really like to be dark why don't more of them tan more, especially those "black" people who are very light skinned or as blacks sometimes call them, "bright."

Actually it has been proven that some color is good for you,and some amount of exposure to sunlight.
A paleness in color likens a person to not feeling well and looking sickly also.
It has been also proven that the more sunlight a person gets during the day, makes him/her feel better for his/her own emotional well being.
That goes for darker color skinned people also, and yes black people do get tanned and sunburned if they are overexposed to the sun.
There are also different colors of black people's skins which some black people are prejudiced to such as the controversy in the latest Super Bowl between the two black coaches which one was lighter skinned than the darker skinned black coach.
Personally I think the whole discussion is ridiculous and am wondering about the motive of your question as being a little racist and prejudiced myself or perhaps you were just wondering.
It is true however that there are many white people try to emulate the black culture with their musical listening habits, but this is usually the case with "young" people, because they think it is cool.
There are many white blond females who prefer men of color also ,which I have found out when I used to belong to some dating sites in and around Colorado.
Overexposure to the sun can cause skin cancer to both white and black people.

Everyone is different. For me im an olive/italian skinned complexion woman. I tan slightly. I dont get orange i hate that. Orange is not normal. that bottle junk usually. I tan slighty not because im ashamed of my skin color but because my skin is slightly un-even toned a little redish in spots and less then perfect complexion. So by tanning SLIGHTY i am able to achieve a better more even look to my skin. Plus i dont live under a rock i cant help but get tan when i go out with my convertible . Does that make sense? My skin is crappy and tanning helps it. LOL

Lefty: I don't know about other black women but I get my hair straightened because it id easier to manage for the type of lifestyle I have. Your statement also shows that you are offended by this person's question!

To answer the question: They probably do it because for one thing pale skin is very unattractive and secondly they are not comfortable in their own skin. I hate to tell you all the truth but we know that you want to be black or have our features at least. If you didn't you wouldn't be going to the tanning booths every other Saturday or getting some type of plastic surgery done.

White people with tans don't look orange. You seem to have an issue with white people which I think you should work out. White people like every color person wants nice skin with a little color, because it looks better, and it feels better. Black people don't especially like ashy skin so why do they wear lotion? now that is about a silly as your question.

white skin will tan no matter what. they could lay out in the sun or just be outside. it's a natural process we cannot do anything about . since this is a natural process people will lay out in the sun to even their tan and to process the skin tone faster.

Now don't you think tan is purdy than a skin color that reminds you of pooh?

It's a fair question.

Views of what is attractive change from time to time. A hundred years ago, a Caucasian woman would have protected her skin from the sun to keep it white, but that aesthetic has changed. Now one whose skin is too white looks pallid and unhealthy and an olive, glowing tan is in vogue. Perhaps that's because people saw Hawaiian women in films, considered them beautiful, and wanted to look like them. Perhaps it was all the beach movies in the 60s.

I don't tan. I'm perfectly happy being the milky white little princess that I am. You come off pretty hostile chicky I think you should try some ritalin. PS- black folks bleach their skin sometimes- I can almost guarantee that's bad for you- everybody's vain not just us

Oooh, good one lefty!
I don't tan on purpose, but I get tan when I'm outside in the summer sun. I think they like the healthy glow from not looking pale and pasty white. It shows you actually get out and exercise or participate in life, instead of staying inside on a computer all day long!

I tan from the sun naturally so I won't turn orange from cheap lotions and tanning beds. The reason for us tanning is so we don't burn. As for pretty looking skin, I love being German.
