Because it's the story of every rapper out there......it's about someone who started with nothing, no money, no respect and through his efforts and trials and tribulations, he managed to top everyone and become top dog. Rags-to-riches story, ganster style. Why wouldn't every rap mogul see scarface as an iconic movie? They all pretty much followed that same path (with the exception of P. Diddy, who was born rich and just ripped off classic songs to become even more fantastically wealthy). What a tool.

A lot of black and Latinos males like the gangsta live style. I can only assume. They think it's hard and cool. They Idolise this life style. Some people in the black community have to hustle to make ends meet. I think some people can Identify for Tony in Scarface. He had nothing and he made it. A lot of black people feel that way hustling in da hood.

because he was a nobody who became a somebody. Scarface had no fear, he was the ultimate gangster. he stared down his fears and pushed ahead when most felt he had nothing worth while. He created his own world because society did not want him.
His marched to his own drum, and kicked butt. He was smart enough to follow his gut, to want more than just what life offered. He wanted it all, he proved himself to be a leader not a follower. he created his empire and showed everyone that he was not the stupid cuban they thought, he showed that you do not have to be book smart to make it, just guts.
But only problem with him was when the living got large, he destroyed himself. His power got too large, and he let down his guard creating a circle of distruction that kept spiraling down.

Cocaine, trashy bling, guns and a serious overdose of the f-word. I still love it though, except for the song,"Take it to the Limit" which dates very badly, unlike the sound track from 'Goodfellas', for example.
