Don't send cash. Go to the Post Office and buy a money order. This costs 75 cents or so, no questions asked.
Mail-order businesses REALLY don't like to receive cash in the mail. They're just as likely to send it back to you (and it could get stolen in the mail either direction).
I used to sell on eBay a long time ago. About 20% of the time, cash payments would just disappear. I have no idea whether the buyer was lying, or their payment really was stolen. Not my problem. I didn't get it = you didn't pay.

Money or cash have a tendency to make people act in peculiar ways. The issue with cash in terms of mail or even ATM deposits is the question of proof. Can you prove that you really put money in the envelope? The answer of course is NO, and it is because of that reason that cash should not be used for certain purposes.
There are alternatives to cash, such as cashiers check. These can be obtained through any post office for a very minimal charge.
To answer your question, YES it will probably turn up missing. even if the recipient receives it, they can take the $$$ and simply tell you that they never received it. Play it safe and don't mail $$$$!!!!

Probably not, but a good idea to do is to start a checking account at any bank and get a debit card with a Visa or Mastercard logo on it, it is backed by them so it works just like a credit card when sending money via the internet, except you cant send anymore then what u have in the account.

About the only thing you can do is to lodge a complaint with Royal Mail although knowing how the mail system actually works there is not much you can actually do. About the only time a postie will get dismissed is if they have been found by the Postal service to be opening mail and stealing money or burning mail but that is something that happens from within the postal service and can only be proven when evidence is found.

you're better off NOT sending money, you have no proof you sent it. Use money order, regular check, but don't send cash!
