ok for an after school job for collage i was thinkin about bein a pole dancer. i know my mom wouldnt liek it but could i do it with out tellin her and should i even do it

If you have enough guts to do it then go ahead. Make the money, don't let the money make you!
I was bored and I did it...I was so scared! A few drink shots would go down just to get me ready and I had fun with it but when it started to make me embarrased, I stopped. I made a lot of money but It wasn't me. I'm shy but love to dance. You have got to be bold to do that type of work. Plus where I worked, you couldn't touch anyone or have them touch you, there were no lap dances. It was very fun but I didn't get much sleep at night b/c I would get home around 3am. There is other options that you can do: You can do hair, make clothes, work at a night club as a bartender or cashier.

There is nothing wrong in being a Pole dancer, If you are afraid that your mother will find out and disapprove, you should find a place that gives lessons and then try just teaching the class and do home instructions for house wives instead.

I have a friend of mine that pursued this with the best of intentions. She is very bright and was actually going to use the money to complete her bachelor's degree. What she didn't count on was the lure of cocaine and other drugs that are prevalent at and around the clubs. She tried it one night and became addicted and later ended up in rehab. True story. She's drug-free now, but she certainly regrets the decision she made. Unless you are very strong-willed I wouldn't recommend it.

You do what you feel is right! No mother is going to approve of something like that, but that decision is yours alone to make. No matter what anyone says if it is something you want to do you will end up doing it (even keeping it secret). If you decide to be very careful because alot of things can happen. I will admit that I have tried it for the money, but after one night I realized it wasn't something I felt comfortable doing! Some people can, some people can't!! If you do - please tell someone you are close to for safety precautions!!!!

I heard once it's not a nice job and you would be working mostly with bi/lesbian druggy women. Plus, if the place isn't extremely busy, you could be showing your stuff for the same as you could be making working at McDonalds. Don't do it. It's not worth it.
