... you can't get through a frickin' soccer game without a riot breaking out?

I mean, we Amercians have NEVER had a riot in the stands at a Super Bowl. By comparison, I've lost count of all the soccer games that ended in riots!

Too damn right!

The morons in the US wait until _after_ a championship is won before they start rioting, and they do it in the streets, saving wear and tear on the stadiums.

Football a monority sport highlighted by press looking for an easy sell. American involvement in WORLD policies and leaderships a 'little' more far reaching. American gun laws where kids have stand offs in playgrounds - a 'little' more far reaching.
I'm not trying to justify British behaviour (to say nothing for the rest of Europe), but at the same time it doesn't help when some Americans are blind to their own faults and choose to highlight other points about other countries to try and deflect away from their real homegrown violence issues!

We Americans may not riot at football games but just last night some 18 shot up a mall and some guy shot up an office!!! We hold the record for office shoot outs, teen perpetrators of murder (not counting the soldiers in Africa), serial killers.

We ARE very violent. Sorry, soccar hooligans don't compare to our gangs and bandits.

Thta's because, after THREE HOURS, you must all be brain dead.

Sport in the US is an entertainment. In Europe it is more visceral, but only football, mainly because it does attract the - shall we say - working class. There is never any trouble at a rugby match.

You have a point. I wonder if the Europeans remember all those wars they've had throughout their history. I saw a comic once that mentioned Europeans talking about "American-style violence" and he mentioned the soccer riots as "European-style violence". Its a good things Americans are "violent" - we bailed out Europe from attempted conquerors... twice!

We don't go to kill to other countries, on another continent. We don't have dead students at the schools.
