Two friends one I know well "Sally" and the other I just met a few days before, "Sue", come over to pick me up to go shopping (I'm in the back seat.) We leave and I get a phone call from another friend, so we go to his house first. On the way back Sally & Sue were talking about "Mary", whom Sue had never met. Sally was telling Sue how she wanted to hang out with Mary but didn't know where she lived. Sue assumed we were talking about a different "Mary", proceeded to drive to that one's house, and then Sally realized it was a different person. Sue told us that she thought we were talking about her mary, sister of her ex, whom she stated treated her VERY badly. Sally, finished with her strawberry soda, then threw the ice out the window towards his car. He then proceeded to chase us in his car, run us off the road, and breaks her window. Sue is taking the ex to court for damages. A week later, his mom is charging ME w/ Criminal Mischief Inconvenience, saying she saw me throw the drink!

Bluntly - yes you do have to worry (a little) about this. If someone is willing to testify against you in court, then there may be issues. You may or may not be arrested.

One of the first things you have try to do would be to see if the girls in the car will cover you. If one of them threw it and will give you something in writing saying that you had nothing to do with it - that should be that - case closed - for you. That would mean at the same time that she would be liable for the damages and/or criminal charges.

Also you can wait to see if your case goes to court, and the mother swears she saw you throwing the cup, you could then bring out the paper, or have the actual ice-thrower take the stand in your defense, thereby ruining her credibility, and possibly opening her (the mother swearing she saw you) up to criminal or civil charges herself...

There's more you can do, and I'm sure others will cover it for you, these are just a few things that popped into my head. Either way, if you didn't throw it, and these people won't stand up and take responsibility for their (her) actions, then you've at least found out that those people do NOT belong in your life anymore. If she throws you to the dogs for her own actions - shame on her!!!

It may be a blessing for you though, imagine if they'd gone to pick up some kilos of something or other, and had you go knock on the door to "get her backpack" or something like that. Basically I'm just trying to say that this could be magnitudes worse if these people are not "stand-up" individuals...

Best of luck man!

Have they arrested you yet?

Odds are that they will look at the situation and drop it. But whatever you do, do not plead out to a lesser charge. That makes you guilty and then the mom could sue you!

And no matter how big of a bs charge this is, if arrested do yourself a favor and go talk to a criminal attorney.

Good luck

Just say that Sally threw the drink, you didn't. Testify the truth and you shouldn't be arrested.

It is all he said she said.

Go to court, shave, dress in a suit and tie. It will make you look honest and be more believable. All you can do is try to get people to believe you.

Depends on if there were any witnesses. If it's just your word against her's, I don't see what they can do. They might charge you as an accomplice if they find her guilty, but hopefully not.

Absolutely. You are being accused and will have to defend yourself. Based on your story, I would expect you to have problems keeping that simple.
