I have a contract with Sprint that I'm handcuffed to for the next 2 years. I got a new phone, but it was stolen. I thought I had insurance, but I apparantly had the wrong kind. So now they want to screw me hard in order for me to get a new phone. Does anyone have any place online where I can get a cheap new/reconditioned phone without having to buy a plan?

Check out E-bay or Craigslist. A lot of people dump their old phones on those sites...also Amazon sometimes has them. The other thing you can do is go to the sprint store and see if they have a cheap refurb you can purchase. My father breaks his phones regularly and the verizon store always seems to have a cheap refurb for under US$50. I think there is also a website called sellyoularphones.com or something close to that, that sells used handsets.

Good Luck.

You can get a Go Phone... But good luck with terminating your current plan. It was a disaster for my mother, so Im not going to touch that part with a 100 foot pole.

My credit bites, so I went to Cingular Go Plans. They aren't bad, and I'm not stuck in any contract.
