I recently went off roading in mud in my acura cl. I know it was a mistake but it was the parking lot of a ski resort I had no choice and it was fun. anyways I poped my hood and found mud everywhere. How do I get it out without damaging anything?

Another idea would be to use air, if you know someone with a compresser, air would be better. Water will work but use caution.

Go to a car wash. The one you can do by hand. You can spray the engine but avoid any and all electronics. If you would have done it right away it would be a lot easier. But if the mud is dry you might want to bring a roll of quarters in order to get it all off.

I stuff rags in any openings to the engine then use my pressure washer. I go offloading all the time I have a 2 wheel drive truck and it works great for me.
Maybe you could just use a hose if you do not have a pressure washer (or if the hose does not work many hardware stores rent equipment by the hour and you could use a pressure washer that way, start with minimum pressure and work your way up) Clean out under your car and in the wheel wells for salt damage too

Its very easy all u need is a good degreaser, make sure ur motor is cooled , then spray it all down with a powerwasher if possible, it wont hurt it to get wet. then soak it with degreaser and scrub it with a brush bottom of the hood to. let it set for 2 or 3 min then rinse it good. start it up and let it idle for 20 min. that will dry it when u are all done spray tireshine on ur motor for a shiney clean look. trust me u will be happy with the results
