People are dissing her, saying she had surgery to change her voice, she is a man, saying she had too many surgeries when she had like no more than four or five and all the terrible things. Cher is a true living legend! Why are people so mean to her and making up all kinds of stuff about her?

1968 series "Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour".
That's what Sonny died of--shame.

For some reason the majority of today's society, gossip is entertainment, and what more entertaining than gossipping about the biggest celebrities of today. I don't think Britney Spears or Madonna is treated any better. But I do agree that it is disgusting, and people shouldn't do it. It's not going to get better though. They don't care, if they don't like somebody, for their work, or their personality, they shouldn't put them down. It's like a bully in school, they bully because they are insecure. Same thing, different scenario's. I think in Cher's case, they dis her because she's different. how often do you see her playing by the rules?? I must admit, however, that you are totally right in saying she is a living legend. Yea but as I was saying, people tease, gossip about differences. And Cher's definitely different. In a unique way.
By the way, in case you wondered, Cher has had 3 major surgeries, nose, breast, teeth. Than of course the odd lift etc. to keep up with age.

That is what happens when you're a celebrity. They take you for face value...don't care what you're really like, or the problems you deal with. They do what they can to keep you in the spotlight whether it be a positive or negative light. I agree that Cher is a living legend, and I can say that I would never want to be famous because It would be very hard to have to hear so many negative things about myself. I don't think people should have to go through that...famous or not. It's like being back in high school.

Cher is a great star she struggled to get where she is today. So what if she had work done to improve her flaws, she is outstanding in her music and a real person. People just can't stand to see real talent such as Chers make it. I miss her and her antics. They were fun,not like todays stars It's all about drugs and making a fool of yourself. Cher has class,something this new breed could ever muster..

I don't know why people can sometimes treat Cher horribly. Meanness has been in the human nature since the beginning and no one is immune from that. I went to see Cher's Living Proof/Farewell Tour. It was absolutely amazing. I can tell you that Cher defiantly has talent. It's sort of like the Anna Nicole Smith situation. In life, everyone always seemed to talk trash about her, and now in death, everyone feels sad. What goes around comes around....

Some people just live for gossip and so they create it themselves. I too think Cher is legend and will continue to be regardless of what people, who have nothing better to do, may think or say.
