you should go apply for no cost medi-cal. if you fall under the income limit they will cover everything related to being pregnant. if not there is share of cost medi-cal or a.i.m for mid-income families. usually a county ran clinic like the health and human services will be able to help you. a nurse at those county ran clinics will ask you financial information for presumptive eligibility. and for that you would fill out papers and be given a temporary medi-cal card on the spot. it only covers certain things related to pregnancy.
if you do fall above the medi-cal income limit your best bet is a.i.m. if you have health insurance already you can still apply for it as long as your deductible and/or copay for maternity related care are $500 or more. you just have to pay 1.5% or something close to that of your annual household income within one year of being enrolled. that amount will cover doctor visits and the hospital for labor and delivery. and you get to choose which insurance you want. for example, i live in tulare county and can choose between 2. my ob/gyn isn't in one so i was able to choose the other that he is in. also, on the application there is a box to check if you would like them to send it to medi-cal if you didn't qualify for a.i.m.
there is also w.i.c. which you probably already know about. i've not gon there yet but i've heard they are more leniant on income guidlines.
but as for unemplyment i really can't say what to do. if your doctor tho wants you on bedrest then you can qualify for disibility if you are working.
for all the services you might qualify for you should go to the welfare department and see what is available. it may not sound the best but its not fun being in a tight money position.

You don't want to work but you still have to pay the bills? So basically you want someone else to work and pay your bills for you. There are two answers here. Either you have a ligitimate medical condition, in which case you should qualify for disability leave. The other answer is you just don't want to work for whatever reason. If the second reason is the case here, I have a suggestion--how about welfare? After all, that's what you're asking for. You want to be a parasite and live for free off what others are doing.
How are you paying your medical bills anyway? What about all the things a new baby will require? That stuff isn't free either, but I'm sure you'll want someone else to foot the bill for all of that too. If that's the case then you have no business reproducing. If that's the case then do us all a favor by going to the doctor and asking for a "tubal ligation". Good luck living off the work of others parasite.
On the other hand, if it's a legitimate medical concern then file for disability.

I am in CA as well. When I was 18 wks preg I got put on bedrest due to placenta previa. If your DR. says no work, you can get Disability for the rest of your pregnancy, then 6-8 weeks postpartum as well. The Dr just has to fill out and sign a portion on the Calif state disbility form. I believe that disbility is about 60% of your regular wages. Good luck.

I was in the same situation. I ended up quiting my job and let my employer know what was going on. I also went on Medicare. Not something I wanted to do but we did not have extra money to pay for Doc. visits. You won't be able to get unemployment if your doc says you can't work. You have to be looking for a job to get this. You need help and that is what welfare is for. AS LONG AS YOU DON'T ABUSE THE SYSTEM like some many people do. If you need it that is what it is there for. Good luck to you. I would try to be at home and prego. After that baby comes you wont have anytime to your self!!! Good luck.

You can't file for unemployment. Do you have short term (or long term) disability insurance? If so, you can file for that. Unless you can work from home there isn't much else you can do. Sorry. I had a similar problem (high risk, twins). I needed to work as well. Fortunately I had long term disability which I was able to draw off of. Best of luck!

the only solution is if your dr. deems you too disabled to work and takes you off work on disability leave, then you may file for disability.
But hun believe me, no one wants to work while they are prego!! But thats the breaks if your Dr thinks it safe for you to work, then well...tuff luck. A lot of women have to.

you might be able to get on disability. sometimes they can give a temporary disability to pregnant women. Then you should be able to get money. If that doesn't work then try getting on supplemental food. If you don't have to spend your money on food then you could spend it on bills. I hope I was able to help a little

"I don't want to work" WAH. None of us wants to work and yet every day we get up and go in order to pay the bills.
My advice is to seriously rethink your attitude toward life because with the one you've got, your kid will have a difficult time attaining anything.
