You need to totally enclose your flock and make sure the fence is buried by at least a foot, more if you can.

If you wire a piece of string from the handle of the coop door, to the trigger of a shotgun, have the barrel of the shotgun facing out through the letterbox then BANG! As soon as the fox tries to pik the padlock his head is blown off!
Or you could try the old trick of placing a few marbles on the ground beneath (this is my personal favourite) when he slips on the marbles, hel go flying into a pool full of sharks and aligators!! Mwaah haa haa ha ha!! or leave an anvil in top of the door so when he opens it.....DONG! forcing him into the ground below! works every time!

a fence for a fox is only gonna do you good if you make sure and bury it a foot or so in the ground. A six foot fence would be best leaving it five feet above ground

Because foxes are very clever, you need to have your coop covered as they can and will climb. Depth is not that important. I use powdered lime at the base of the fence to ward off other critters.

Two feet deep, six feet high. Most of the time the fox would go under. Keep it high so the chickens don't get out.

I think you need to get a chicken roosting shed so they and you can sleep safe at night. Make sure the door has a good bolt- foxes are very cunning and will stop at nothing when hungry - read Beatrix Potter!

If it was Edward Fox, Fox Mulder, or Michael J. Fox nothing would help.

Wood subfloor (plywood or 2x6's) and fasten heavy (HEAVY) gauge wire to it, 4 sides, and the top.

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/AhPKz
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
