i recently found out that a friend of mine is gay. how you ask? well i came across a conversation that was he had with someone else which was saved on my computer. should i come out and tell him that i know he's gay or should i wait until he is ready to tell me himself?

Wait and let him tell you! I dated 3 guys who all turned out to be gay, I know a thing or two about these situations. Don't confront him with it, let him come to you. It's a sensitive enough subject that he needs to deal with and when he feels strong enough to come out to his friends, he'll need all the support he can get. Just wait it out. If he considers you a true friend, it won't be long before he tells you.

if you feel you can't wait for him to out himself, maybe you know another gay guy that might be a good match? If so, you can tell him, I know the greatest guy, think you'd like to meet him? This is a fairly comfy way to let on you know, but really, I'd wait for him to say it. It isn't that important anyway... I mean, you never came out to him as straight, did you?

I can't tell you from expereince... But, being a closeted gay person must be stressful.
I would tell him what happened (Inadvertently read message) and be his freind. I'm sure he could use one.
I've had a couple off gay roommates and they were better freinds than some of my straight (& Christian) freinds.

if i were you, i would tell him that you know...he could probably use someone to talk to about it....be a true friend and be totally supportive about it...it is probably a hard thing for him, and he doesn't need someone that is suppose to be his friend backing out on him to stop being his frend cuz he is gay!!

let him/her tell you. i mean you should or could hint at him like dude your going to be my best freind and ill love u like a bro/sis ( w/e gender ur freind is) and say that ull always be there for them. they might be a lil bit more confidant to tell you then
