You've got the candles, the music, yourself the way he most likes you (Dolled up? Wearing his shirt? Wearing whatever you were wearing the day you first met / Kissed / realized you were a romantic couple?)

Do you have kids and would you like to send them off to a friend's house or family and have a night alone?

Is it only up to you? Would he like to help out in any way? Maybe he can toss rose petals all over the house or something? :D

Keep it simple so you're not stressed out by the time it comes to showing off your handiwork!

Have a great Valentin's!

Romance is all in the mind so to make it romantic, use what works for you. Candles are good unless, like me, either of you are allergic to them. Soft lights, quite music, favorite foods and a movie you both agree upon is good. Make foods that are easy to prepare or prepare them ahead of time. Don't spend all of your time in the kitchen, spend it with each other. If you both like to cook, cook together. If you are one of those who have to clean the table right after dinner, DON'T. Make your time together more important that the routine. A fondu (yes, it's on the way back) is fun for two people to do, even if it's only for dessert. Nothing like some healthy fun with chocolate. How do you define romantic? How does he? If romance is a cold beer and a hot dog, get some beer and a hot dog!! If it's more, do more. Dress up!! That doesn't mean a red teddy with hearts all over it (unless you are comfortable with it) but wear something nice. Sexy never hurts. An idea for sexy? A simple black dress with a string of pearls, wear your hair up, heels, bare legs if you can swing it. Nice perfume (don't take a bath in it) is always welcome unless, like the candles, someone is allergic. If you dance, make time and room for some dancing. Slow dances, wet kisses and champagne make for a romantic evening. Give him a flower this year. Oh, and for Pete's sake, let the kids stay at a babysitter's for the evening.

yes.. very easy, finger foods especially where you can romantically feed one another. Fun foods as it were. Mellon balls, straw berries, deep fried mushrooms, mini sausages, etc, etc. Now when you go to the store and I know you will be... Get two cans of rediwhip. Chocolate and white. You will be using that for the after desert entertainment. WINK! WINK!
