I have been with my fiance for almost 5 years, we have two children, and were very happy. But we never talk about marriage, how do I know when the perfect time to start talking about it?

If you want to ruin the good thing you have going...bring it up tomorrow on Valentine's Day!!!

Why try to fix something if it's not broke??

There isn't such thing as a "perfect time". Depends on how you feel about "marriage", and what you're looking for. I personally would not be having children unless I was married - not out of some "moral" principle, but simply because it makes my life easier: if I'm going to have a "family", I want ALL the benefits of it, including social and legal (which marriage provides). But if you're ok with living together and having kids together - why bother getting married? It really depends on you. If both of you want to get married - the perfect time is now.

There isn't going to be a perfect time. If you want to get married, then it's time to start talking about it. If you feel like it's time, then it's time... Good luck!

Just bring it up and guage her reaction. If its good then you know that its the right time. If she just advoids the conversation then she might need more time or have commitment issues. You just need to start by talking about it.
