If you don't have anything to offer a child, please refrain from having them......and no, a shallow gene pool isn't much to offer.

If they give the same idiot test to people thinking of having a child that they give to determine whether or not you can drive, it won't really help, or maybe you haven't noticed how bad people drive? I'm sure you've already realized this, but the truth is that there are just a lot of stupid people out there, and as appealing as it may sound, deciding who gets to breed is a pretty scary amount of power to give the government.

I have wondered that too! I spent years educating myself about children before and after having them! I wish it was required! Raising a child is the most important job one can have!

Good question - when I am "king of the planet" it will be a requirement - you will have to show that you aren't a complete moron before you can do something as serious as raising a child.

I can't agree with you more. Also how about mandatory sterilization for AIDS carriers, drug addicts, people on welfare, etc? I had one child in spite of using birth control. I raised her, supported her, did my best. When hy husband lost his job, I had my tubes tied, because I knew we would have a tough time supporting this one.

I agree with you - ignorance breeds ignorance and it is very hard to stop the cycle.
On the other hand, what can we do about it? Arrest people with a low IQ if they have kids? Make them wear chastity belts? All we can do is encourage them to become educated.

LOL You make a great point! Just like it costs more to get divorced than it does to get married. Maybe if it took more to get married - there'd be less divorces.
