When troops were placed in Afganistan by Chreitian the mission was VERY different that what it is today and even Tory senators realise that the possibility of sucess there is doubtful .

The moment he was elected we signed on for Afghanistan and Canada has been becoming increasingly militarized. If you watch Bush and most talking heads down there, Canada is rarely mentioned regarding Afghanistan.

Harper is not afraid, just tired of the free ride Dion is getting on the environment, adscam and everything else. The mission in Afghanistan has not changed since Chretien, there is just more Taliban opposition now than then. We are fighting Taliban because they are evil and supported AQ training camps. We are doing the right thing there. Dion is a goof and I am very happy he is leader of the Liberals. Harper will do wonders with a majority government. By the way, instead of parroting other people's opinions, spend some time doing research on the issues, it may be a surprise to you that Harper is not what you think (or parrot what other people think).

Yoiu say what most liberals say, which is not plagarism, only repeating what you hear. The statements you make have no real facts supporting them, therefore I assume hearsay. A statement that the "attack" ads prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Harper is "afraid" of Dion requires proof. It is a hearsay statement that I have read and heard in many places. I acknowledge it is a possibility, but is NOT concrete proof. There are many other possibilities. The one that it is to negate the free ride Dion is getting on the environment is taken fron the Conservaive Party web site. Or that We are in Afghanistan because Bush told him to is also lacking in proof. The troops have been providing security in Kandahar since Chretien sent them there. I have a hard time listening to people go on about these things and provide nothing more than opinion. These issues are complex and a question like this begs to be refuted. Sorry if you take offense, but none is intended, I just try to encourage people to read and think, not repeat what some one else says. We are not sheep.
