I've often thought this could be fun. Contestants would be randomly chosen from all of the nations and they could be average citizens. The events would be different with themes still resembling games or sports and being more fun, funny, and less uptight.
Events might include:
Downhill ski / Play minigolf / Eat as many hotdogs as you can.
Basketball Freethrow - From Escalators down into goals.
Coffee swimming event - Start with full cup and try to get to the end without spilling any.
Splash Dive - The biggest splash wins.
People sled event - Dogs in drivers seat, people do the running.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard about the Olympics. Why even waste your time thinking about crap like this?

While you're at it, why not a "Fear Factor" Olympics? Seeing people worldwide eating goat's eyeballs would be a treat.
