How low are you going mate? There's so many semi-professional leagues down there.

By the way, a decade or so ago Fulham were at the very bottom of League Football (92nd in all League football). Now they're in the Premiership :)

Wimbledon FC - the old Wimbledon, before they became Milton Keynes Dons - rose from the old Southern League (equivalent of the Conference) in 1976 to the old First Division (now Premier League) in 1986. They famously won the FA Cup in 1988.

Technically this wasn't the "very bottom" of the pyramid. But I think it's the biggest leap in terms of rising rapidly through the divisions.

Many teams have came up from lower leagues to end up in the Premier League. A prime example is Wigan, who wasn't even around in the 70s, and are now in the top flight. Teams like Reading and Fulham too.

Conversely, there are teams that were once top flight stalwarts but have fallen badly down. Examples are Nottm Forset, Sheff Wed, QPR and the likes.
