It depends on how it was legally written up.

If you allow someone to legally adopt your child , then that party Will be the legal guardian and you Will be totally out of the child's life. You cant just say I give up my rights, it has to be legal and binding. Also if a child becomes a ward of the court and perhaps may be put in foster care, then the court will decide what is best for the child. Make sure that you speak to a child care worker as I do not know all of the aspects of what you are actually trying to say. Hope that I have been helpful, your question was very brief and limited. I hope that child support is not the only issue in your wanting to give up your child for whatever past child support that you may or may not owe will still be required . Giving up your rights will not erase the past child support, will only affect the future, again I am not an expert on this , only speaking from experience.

If you give up your rights so another man can adopt the child or so your Ex can move out of state and not be responsible for having the child(ren) readily available to you for visitation and it is all done legally then, no you do not pay child support, but to just say you don't want anything to do with your child means nothing, whether you see your child or have anything to do with the child your still responsible for the financial welfare of them

If you legally give up your rights you lose all responsibility to the child. Therefore you no longer have to pay child support.

Usually if you give up your rights to a child, that means that you don't get to visit them or make any decision concerning them. Unless they are adopted, you are still responsible for child support.

No if you legally give up your rights to the child, you give up all legal responsibility for that child. No child support, no visitation, no nothing.

Yes, I believe you do, especially if the person caring for the child gets any assistance from "the state". It ALL depends on the particular situation, ya know...good luck!

If you are in arears (owe back child support), that never goes away, but there would be no new child support added on.
