It is more than that for people around here. The grocery store looked like the day before Thanksgiving just a half hour ago-like it is the end of the world or something. People panic for nothing. But I know what you mean about the bread and milk. When I was about 5 we had a the big daddy of all snow storms in Michigan and I remember my dad going to the store with our sled and bringing back bread, milk and beer and Playboy!!!

I guess milk for the kids and bread for sandwiches (non cooked meals)
we used a camping stove and I think we ate more during the storm that not (lol)

I stopped at the store just to get 1/2 and 1/2 for my am coffee that is a necessity....OMG people were outta control and I literally had TWO things in my hand and one was my cell.

how bout because people are desensitized spoiled brats who have to run out at the slightest possiblity of only having 30 cans of soup in the house????
ok ..sorry..for that( i know that didnt really answer your q)...but its true.
one little storm comes now and people go into a panic. id hate to see if we ever had a real crisis...
